Substance Abuse Testing Policy
It is strongly recommended that a substance abuse testing program not be implemented prior to the introduction of a company testing policy. Most federal and state laws require a written policy regarding drug testing, alcohol testing, and substance abuse before initiating employee testing.
The policy should state the employer’s position on the possession, use, and/or distribution of illegal drugs and alcohol in the workplace. The policy should identify the type of testing to be conducted, the drugs to be tested, implications relating to a positive test, testing procedures, and other pertinent information.
Ross Health Care Clinic will provide our clients with substance abuse policy guidelines. It is intended as a guide for managers, human resources personnel, and attorneys in formulating a unique company policy.
